Position:  Sr.  Environmental Research Specialist

Our client’s Toxicology and Environmental Research & Consulting (TERC) Laboratory is seeking a SR. ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH SPECIALIST to conduct environmental science evaluations in support of regulatory, wastewater, remediation, and environmental stewardship programs.

Responsibilities include:

·    Conducting environmental science studies for product development

·    Leadership of soil, sediment and groundwater remediation processes

·    Consulting on wide variety of environmental issues including innovative environmental cleanup technologies

·    Leadership of scientific research on topics of interest to Dow businesses.

Specific expertise in environmental engineering/sciences is preferred, with experience and/or training in experimental design, statistical analysis, and project management in these areas.

Preferred experience in generating laboratory data and providing interpretation of the processes which influence the partitioning, transport, and lifetime of chemicals in groundwater.  Working knowledge of and/or experience in wastewater treatment and/or soil and groundwater remediation processes is also necessary.

Work experience in communication skills and an ability to manage multiple projects are essential.  A working knowledge of U.S. and International regulatory testing guidelines and GLP standards is preferred. The successful candidate should have demonstrated an ability to work individually and within a strong team environment.  Submission of scientific research to peer-reviewed publications is expected.

This job is offering COUNTRY/REGION relocation within the United States only, subject to obtaining senior management approval.

PhD, with experience in Environmental Engineering/Sciences, preferred MS, Environmental Engineering/Sciences + 5-7 years of experience in Environmental Sciences will be considered.
